Earl or Fiona in Gulf this weekend?

While we have benn concentrating on the tropical activity way out in the Atlantic (Danielle & another TD), our VIPIR model run tonight suggests a low will form along the frontal boundary down in the Gulf on Friday and head northward towards the upper Texas Coast on Saturday. Even if it becomes a named storm (Earl or Fiona), we should just see some gusty winds and squally weather Friday into Saturday. If the NE shear remains strong, this could end up like Bonnie & Colin and get named but fizzle without doing much. Stay tuned.

In the short term, enjoy Wednesday's dryness and pleasant morning temps as the muggies return for Thursday into the weekend.

Well, you have got to be kidding! I can't believe that it has been so quiet all hurricane season and now not only are we dealing with 2 systems in the Atlantic but VIPER is picking up on a tentative system in the gulf on Saturday! NOOOOOOO!!! I saw earlier in the week that BOB had predicted windy weather but possible squally weather will not do!!! Rough seas I do not need! and squalls won't be nice for the deck of this cruise ship either. Oh gosh, let's all just hope VIPER is wrong this time! Please keep me posted BOB. I'll be boarding the ship at noon on Saturday. Thanks for all the informative weather information. Perhaps I should pack an umbrella. Hopefully Cozumel will be sunny!

Nashette, I certainly hope you have an enjoyable cruise. I was on the Triumph in May, the ship is amazing. Good luck.

Nashette,

Any development that occurs will be in the western Gulf of Mexico and will move west right into Texas. That particular system will have little to no effect on your cruise.

Thanks to both J and ONLY REAL....I hope the ship is as beautiful as they say it is J. I was on the Carnival Fantasy 2 years ago, Carnival Conquest 4 years ago and Carnival Elation last year. The Conquest was huge compared to the others.

Nashette...be patient!!! Your ship can find the sea ...and she will sail until her waters have run dry...

Have a great time on your cruise!!! Bon Voyage!!!

Almost jealous of those guys up north that have such cool weather...no fair. Our time will come.
