Finally Danielle...
Way Way Way out in the Atlantic, Danielle was named this afternoon. All computer models keep the storm recurving well north of the islands never threatening the U.S. mainland. It appears we may get thru the month of August without a hurricane threat...unless something develops just offshore over the eastern Gulf. We have another weak front that will drift towards the northern Gulf the next 2-3 days. Sometimes a weak low develops along an old frontal boundary once it moves over the Gulf. The good news...it rarely becomes a major storm. the bad news...it can become a big rain makers. I'll be watching the Gulf this week as we have no long track Cape Verde storms to worry about.

Thanks to all for your comments regarding my cruise. I am glad to see I will have no worries! 5 days and counting! That sure was a whopper of a thunderstorm last night. Lost electricity and my doggie was frightened beyond belief. Lots of puddles this morning and as a matter of fact, when I did the doggie walk at 6:45 am I got eaten alive by mosquitos. Gonna be a hot one today so I hope everyone is prepared.
You're gonna have a ball. We will hold the fort down while you party at sea!!
Thanks Beans....I can't wait for 8 days away from home and the office! Hopefully all these waves rolling off of Africa will wait till after Labor Day to cause any problems...By then, I'll be safely home and preparing for "back to work"...
I enjoy reading the blogs. It is fun, enjoyable and a pleasure to read. This blog does what it is
set out to do.
I am impressed by OnlyReal and his
weather forecast. A real future
