Matthew Coming to Caribbean?

Tonight's satellite loops show the strong tropical wave moving thru the eastern Caribbean has a weak circulation, although it lacks any T-Storms. As it gets farther to the west, we will likely see our next named storm (Matthew) by Thursday or Friday. Hopefully it will keep moving westward into central America. What we will have to watch for is a slowing down of the system that might allow it to strengthen over the warm waters of the western Caribbean and then a turn to the north that could bring it into the Gulf late Saturday into Sunday. By that time, a cold front will be dipping down towards us along with an upper trough that would turn whatever forms away from us to the east. Way too soon to start guessing as nothing has formed yet. Just keep up on the weather for the next several days.

In the short term, Fall arrives at 10:09 PM, but it will still feel very much summer-like as highs should top 90+ for the 17th straight day. The only cooling might be a stray PM shower. Real relief should arrive by Sunday night.

Watching this tropical wave in carribean..... could be Matthew by tomorrow or early Friday. Several models show this system getting in the GOM by 7-10 day mark. We haven't had lots to deal with this hurricane season so let's just keep our eyes on this one and hope it will be one of the last!!! I see those temps really get nice in the mornings toward the end of the weekend. I guess the "pool" weather is just about gone...I can smell those fireplaces already!!! ONLY REAL....haven't heard much from you in a while...Hope school is going well.

If I remember, a cool front in September is still a little earlier than last year.

Well, I've been reading forecasting and almanacs and they predict a pretty mild and dry winter from Oct - Dec....But....Jan and Feb will be much colder and much wetter!!! That is typically the norm here anyway, Jan and Feb the coldest months and sometimes kids are still wearing shorts to Trick Or Treat!
