Old Man Winter Is Starting to Roll...

The coldest airmass of the season (-30 in Northern Canada) is heading into the lower 48 tonight. we are feeling the first wave of cold air this evening with a secondary surge arriving on Thursday. Since the upper jet stream will not dip down into the Gulf, the core of this cold will stay well to our north, but that may change heading into next month. Long range computer models develop a deep trough over the west and then move it over us by the 1st week in December. That could bring us our first freeze of the season so you should use the next 2 weekends to winterize your house and gardens for the coming chill.

In the short term...winds diminish over night as temps fall into the 40s. Sunny skies and much less wind on Wednesday with highs near 70 -delightful! brisk north winds return on Thursday keeping highs mid 60s at best. A slow warming begins Friday with highs back into the 70s for Sat-Sunday.
