Today's widespread rainfall was the best since way back in August. It was really needed as many lawns and neutral grounds had turned brown. The heaviest storms with any threat for severe weather already has passed south and east of the city. Most of the showers will be east of the city after midnight with only some lingering showers across the Northshore during the morning hours. Drier air will sweep all the clouds away during the afternoon hours. This cool down will not be as strong as the last one, although you'll need sweaters and jackets on Thursday as a secondary surge of cool air arrives.
