As a child I looked forward to Thanksgiving for several reasons. 1) we had a break from school ! 2) On both sides of the family we had big wonderful meals...home made I might add, and 3) the weather was almost always cold enough to snow. As an adult, I still miss 1 & 2, but not # 3. Looking north of Denver tonight finds many states in the first sub-zero cold of the season. Seattle has been snowing all day....burrr! Yep, being able to golf into December & January, to fish, catch and eat fresh seafood all year long makes living here worth not having the change of seasons.
In the short term, temperatures will stay near record warmth into Thanksgiving. A cold front finally arrives early Friday morning bringing showers and much colder air. The core of the cold should stay to our north but we'll need sweaters and jackets once again.
