Weekend Freeze Coming...

Winter began today at 5:38 PM as our high reached a Spring-like 73. That will slowly change Wed-Thurs. as a weak front passes through. However, a much stronger front is coming for late Christmas Eve into early Christmas Day. Some showers will accompany the front Friday night into early Saturday with much colder air arriving Saturday afternoon and night. A hard freeze is likely on the Northshore Sunday & Monday mornings with a light to moderate freeze on the southshore. Temperatures will slowly moderate for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Leaving for Grandma's tomorrow or Thursday should be no problem driving wise around the Gulf South. Santa should have strong tail winds Friday night so he'll have no problems getting here despite no snow. Merry Christmas everyone. I'll have no internet access for the next 6 days.

Bob, I live on the Northshore and have been playing around with a snow machine that actually makes snow in the air using compressed air when the wet bulb gets around 28F. I am considering ordering some better nozzles from snowathome.com to make a more efficient snow machine. Does it look like we'll see many more low to mid 20F nights on the northshore?... I've been hearing the rest of the winter looks mild... any thoughts? should i not waist my money on the snow nozzles for this winter?

To the previous poster. I'm right there with you, I made my snow gun and I'm waiting on some freezing temps too. Although I live on the south shore and my chances of making snow are very limited. Word of advice don't buy nozzles from Snowathome big rip off and you still wont have the nozzles you need.
