Let the hype begin...

TWC is already hyping another east coast snow storm that is still WEST OF CALIFORNIA ! It's kind of like what happens here during hurricane season when the hype starts before the storm even reaches the Gulf. I can understand our situation since we need 2-3 days notice to evacuate if necessary. But c'mon...a possible snow storm that is 4-5 days away. Scare the dickens out of the folks...it'll keep them watching.

Enjoy Friday as highs may approach 70. After that, temperatures go downhill. That Western storm may trigger a Gulf low for us bringing heavy rains & strong winds Sunday afternoon and night. It'll be a chilly rain with temps in the 50s, but you'll need to go north of Jackson to encounter any frozen precip. Daytime highs next week will struggle to get out of the 40s with freezing night time temps returning. As I said...enjoy Friday !

any chance of winter precip on the south shore on Sunday night? What about northshore?

I think all the nasty stuff (snow and ice) will be far north of us.. You will have to be near the Tennessee/Arkansas line to see any of it Sunday.. It will just be blowing, cold and rainy for us Sunday evening. Did I mention that I hate snow?

Okay...so now we have a Winter Storm Watch for Pearl River County. What are the chances of sleet accumulations even as far south as Picayune?

I just read some info online that brings snow to the NS and the MS coast!

Maybe TWC should think before speaking...much like this related weather story...

This newscast had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any! We had a female news anchor that, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't,
Turned to the weatherman and asked:
'So Bob, where's that 8 inches you
Promised me last night?'
