Major Pattern Change Coming...

After tonight and tomorrow night's freezing temps, computer models are showing no real cold air coming for the next 2 weeks. That puts us almost to March where we still can get a light freeze, but the threat of pipe busting freezes are over. NOAA's Climate Prediction Center says the strong La Nina is showing signs of weakening. They have issued their 90 day outlook that places us in the "above average" area with below average rainfall. Unfortunately, their winter outlook placed us in the above average area for temps and we all know that hasn't been the case.

In the short term, the next 4-5 days will see mainly clear skies with a warming trend beginning Saturday PM and continuing all of next week. From lows in the 20s Fri-Sat morning, highs by Sunday will top 60 and be near 70 by Wednesday. Bring on Spring !
