Snow Close but Snow Far !
The southern snow storm was quite a whopper across Oklahoma & Arkansas with some areas getting 1-2 FEET ! The storm weakened this afternoon and evening and now is fizzling over Alabama & Georgia. Even tho tonight's VIPIR run still shows some flurries late tonight and early Thursday, radar is showing the rain (moisture) racing off to the NE long before we'll be cold enough to see some flakes. The snow line made it as far south as Canton, MS where there was enough to cover the ground. Our focus now shifts to how cold. NWS has a freeze watch up for Friday morning, hard freeze N-shore with moderate freeze S-Shore. It will take some time to shake this current cold since the snow cover is so close to our north. By Saturday afternoon a warming trend will begin that will last thru most of next week.
