Our current streak of 6 straight days 80+ should become 7 on Wednesday. The high of 82 on Tuesday is the normal/average high for the 1st week in...May! March of 2010 had a total of ONE day with 80 degree warmth. The cause of this early season warmth has been a persistent upper level ridge over the southern U.S. that has kept any cold fronts from getting close. That pattern may change for next week as the ridge breaks down allowing for fronts to return along with the threat for some much needed rainfall. We may even get cool enough to bring back the sweaters and jackets.
In the short term, Wednesday will see little change with some early morning clouds & fog becoming Pt. Sunny with more near record warmth. Wednesday's record is 84 and we should get close.
