Natural Variability ?

Wow, one year ago our daytime high (it was 61 at midnight) was 52 with a low of 39. Certainly, sweaters and coats were required. Fast forward to today and here we enjoyed highs 30 degrees warmer. I point that out to remind all that we can still get chilly in late March into mid April. Do NOT put away your sweaters yet! A pattern change will arrive next week that will bring back the need for the heavier weather gear. But until then, the rest of this week will stay warm and mostly dry. The 1st 9 days of March started out wet, but we have shifted into a dry pattern that may last into next week. With tropical air covering much of the Gulf South, some showers may develop over the next 4-5 days, but I'm not expecting any widespread rains.

As we water our gardens and potted plants, I have tried a new fertilizing method called "more often". A friend told me to fertilize my plants once a week instead of every other or every 3-4 weeks. What a difference that has made. My roses are going nuts! Plus I even got several of my orchids to rebloom. They need food baby so feed them "more often"! P.S. Follow directions on the labels as too much fertilizer at once can burn 'em up.
