Another Deadly Day...
The same weather pattern that brought the Joplin tornado 2 days ago has done it again this afternoon and evening. A strong jet stream plows into the west coast and barrels across the Rockies into the plains where it couples with Gulf moisture moving northward colliding with cooler air over the northern plains. SPC placed a large section of KS,OK & TX under a high risk for tornadoes and that's exactly what happened. Fortunately for us this pattern keeps the storms well to our north. A weak front will bring us a chance for some much needed rain on Thursday, but the front will struggle to make it through us and the showers will be spotty. The holiday weekend will stay dry with building heat as highs will be in the low to middle 90s !
