Bill Nye The Science Guy?

At least that's what he calls himself and he does have a degree in mechanical engineering. But does he have a back ground in weather & climate? Nope, but that isn't stopping him from blaming the recent tornadoes in Tuscaloosa & Joplin on...you guessed it...global warming and man. I guess he hasn't read MeteorologyProfessor Grady Dixon at Mississippi State University who says, "terrible mistake to relate tornado up tick to climate change.". In fact Prof. Dixon says "to the contrary, over the long term the number of deadly tornadoes has dropped dramatically". You can read more about this on ICECAP.US.

Our current hot & dry pattern will last a couple more days with only isolated PM showers to break the heat. There are signs that the tropical easterlies will bring moisture over us to increase shower chance for next weekend. That should make us less hot...88 instead of 94 ! Don't forget to watch FOX 8's WEATHERING THE STORM, our annual Hurricane Special Tuesday night 7-8 PM.

Bob, they call it climate change now so where it's colder or warmer it can be used either way, they figured global warming may be too risky to be used during winter HA! :)

Jerry...you gotta be kidding? You mean Climate Change has been going on back before the Vikings inhabited Greenland? I thought for sure Climate Change was a recent man made thing!

The number of deaths from deadly tornadoes has nothing to do with whether climate change is happening or not - it has to do with early warning systems, and hard work by cities and states to provide safe havens for people in tornado prone areas.

I, like many, wish you would take the politics out of your weather forecasting, Bob.
