Nightmare continues...

In the hurricane season, August & September have the upper steering currents go light making forecasting future storm paths very difficult. In the Winter, the Upper Flow is much stronger, however when the direction is out of the southwest, it presents another forecasting problem. Now it's one of timing minor disturbances that often produce significant rainfall for many days. After a sunny & cold weekend, the SW flow returned and we have been dealing with it since Tuesday. There is an end in sight as finally a strong disturbance will head eastward moving thru by late Saturday turning off the moisture machine for several days. The issue Friday and Saturday will be the track of a surface low that will form over the western Gulf by late Friday. IF it goes to our west and north, we get into the warm air sector with T-Storms Sat. AM. If it goes just to our south, we'll just deal with some heavy rainfall. Eaither way, keep up on the weather early on Saturday because we could see some severe storms with 2-3"+ rainfall. Stay tuned!
