Gordon will probably become a hurricane on Friday but who cares? He's heading towards Europe away from the U.S. Computer models are hinting a storm will form our in the Atlantic coming off of Africa during the next 3-5 days. So far out, not an immediate concern. However, the remains of TD 7 is entering the extreme southern Gulf and NHC has scheduled a plane to fly out Friday PM if satellite loops show any development. So far tonight, all storms remain over land.
In the short term, we have a wet 2-3 days coming as our daily shower chances will be enhanced by a deepening east coast trough that will bring a cold front down to the Gulf South. That front should push off our coast by Sunday PM bringing us drier air for Monday & Tuesday. That should result in cooler nights for the beginning of next week.
