Hello October, Bring on the Fronts !

Officially we have 60 days left in the 2013 Hurricane season.  However, IF history is our guide, we are essentially done worrying about an “evacuation” type storm.   That doesn’t mean we couldn’t see a late October Juan (1985), but as more & more cold air arrives down south, the less chance for us to be affected by these late systems.   They usually are steered well to our south & east and that is what I expect from here on out.   There is a cluster of T-Storms developing south of the Cayman’s and that system will drift westward the next 2-3 days.  None of the models develop this “spin” into a storm before our next cold front arrives late Saturday or early on Sunday.   It might add some tropical moisture into the approaching front so we’ll watching for a heavy rain threat over the weekend. Stay tuned!

In the short term, we’re back in the muggy air and will stay summer-like for the next 4-5 days.  Spotty showers will be possible until drier air arrives for next week.
