What's Going On Out There?
It was almost funny watching The Weather Channel today seeing the various reasons why tropical activity, especially in the Atlantic Basin is so quiet. NHC keeps trying to form stuff having 2 invests tonight running computer models on systems that haven't formed. You guessed it, local weathercasters are showing the models like there is some skill when there is no initialization point. I said this before, but I feel it needs to be said again. "Tropical computer models have great difficulty (little skill) forecasting weak or ill defined systems...they do far better when the system becomes a stronger Tropical Storm or Hurricane". So to even focus on tracks for something that hasn't formed yet is to create fear/anxiety where none should exist. Let's relax knowing we have no tropical issues for the next 5-7 days, hopefully longer. Stay Tuned!
