Fasten your seat belts

I remember growing up in Indiana & Michigan where once it got cold (November) it stayed cold thru March.  Below freezing didn’t seem very cold because my body acclimated to the chill.   The same thing happens here in reverse.  We get hot in May & stay hot thru September.  90 + doesn’t seem too bad while I remember 90+ in Hammond,IN. was very hot.   I bring that up because we will see highs climb well into the 70s here for Thursday & Friday before a strong front will keep us in the 50s (with wind) this weekend.  Signs that a “Gulf Low” may form early next week could mean some really nasty weather late Monday into Wednesday. Stay tuned!

P.S.   The Polar Bears must be loving the chill up north.  Fairbanks, AK is minus 30 while Dawson in the Yukon is minus 46 !!!  Fortunately for us, no big dip in the jet stream is digging our way meaning the core of the cold should stay well north.
