Polar Express Loading Up.

Looking at the long range (10-14 days) model guidance shows me a colder & colder lower 48 with several snowstorms thrown in for fun & merriment.  How far south the arctic cold gets is the tough call.   IF an Alberta Clipper would “phase up” with a southern track low…Yikes!  Can you say “Deep South Snowstorm” !!!   Yea, let’s not get crazy just yet, however, it is clear this December is going to be one of the coldest Decembers in many a year, perhaps many a decade.

In the short term, we’ll see our current cold spell linger into early Friday with a rapid, but short lived warm up happening Friday PM into midday on Saturday.  Our “normal”/average high should be in the mid 60s but we’ll stay in the 50s both Wednesday & Thursday before Friday struggles to the mid 60s & perhaps soars into the low to mid 70s on Saturday morning before our next cold blast arrives Saturday PM through Monday.   Some showers may accompany the front on Saturday, otherwise we should be mostly dry.
