Winter gonna be a Brute?

I’ve been reading lots of info that indicates we could be setting up for one of the coldest Winters (Dec-Feb) since 1977-78.  Of course we’ll hear from the AGW crowd that it’s another sign of weather extremes.  Yea right!   Less I digress…the next blast from the Arctic is plowing down the West Coast  and will move over the plains tomorrow & Thursday.  We’ll still be warm & Spring-like before the front reaches us midday on Friday.  This will not be a “clean” front with clearing skies behind it.  Instead, a SW upper flow will make it a “dirty” front with lots of over-running  cold rainfall behind it.  Several waves of low pressure will create snowy, icy conditions just north of Louisiana with the real cold arriving late Sunday.  AT THIS TIME, it does not look as cold as last week’s freezing  temps, but that could change.  Stay tuned!
