Despite all you may be hearing on The Weather Channel, CNN & the other networks, our current cold spell will rival the cold of 4 (Yep…just FOUR) years ago when Slidell dipped to 18 & MSY hit 21. Looking back at the Record Lows for December & January you’ll find that hard freezes were fairly common in the 50s thru the late 80s. The 90s & 00s have been warmer decades, but it now appear the 10s are going back to the cold CYCLES of my youth. Of course the AGW alarmists want you to believe the below zero chill is caused by a warming planet, just like the ice breaker getting stuck in Antarctica. Don’t ever let data get in your way, but if it does….fudge the data. It’s CYCLES on the Planet Gang.
A warming trend will finally begin Wednesday and last thru the weekend. Even up north will see moderating temps. If used to be called the “January Thaw” when I was growing up.
