What other major city in America could pull off an event as large as Mardi Gras in such nasty weather as today? I dare say no one. Sure, they do Winter Ice Festivals up North but today involves hundreds of floats & thousands of riders tossing "stuff" to hundreds of thousands of parade watchers. Granted, the crowds were far slimmer, but the party went on. I salute all the Krewes that entertain us, the people that costumed, and the police who keep us safe year after year. As Rex said saluting his Queen in the rain...If ever we cease to love". And we love you New Orleans!
In the short term, only slow improvement can be expected Wed-Thursday as more upper disturbances will keep clouds and showers lingering. By Friday PM, a real warming trend will arrive and last thru the weekend. Yippee!
P.S. Gotta love how the AGW alarmists keep trying to tie all the cold, ice & snow into Global Warming. He-He ! Next, they will predict fewer hurricanes in 2014 because of cooler Atlantic Water temps.
