Spring means Storms...

Because of the lingering cold air across a good part of the country, this year's severe weather season has been off to a slow start with the number of tornadoes again being way below normal/average.  We have seen a couple of minor outbreaks, but what we haven't seen is the widespread development of severe weather.   Fast moving upper disturbances will create several opportunities for severe storms during the next 1-2 days including us on Friday night.   It appears the strongest storms will stay north of Lake P.  The forecasting problem is the timing of the fast moving upper systems.   The computer models just don't seem to handle the southern stream very well.   Best bet for Friday?  There will be several rainy periods, but many dry hours.  IF we see enough sunny breaks, we could reach 80 degrees for the first time this month.  A front arrives before dawn on Saturday sweeping away all the clouds & moisture bringing in slightly cooler air.  That great feel air will hang around into next week.
