Rain Chances Slim to None...

I wish I could say "NO RAIN" this weekend, but a leftover frontal boundary (an old cold front) has sagged into south LA/MS and could be the focus for a few stray showers on Saturday as it lifts back northward.  Higher chances (20% ) for the North Shore vs the South Shore (10%).  Sunday will turn windy & should be dry except for a few showers towards dark.   All in all, I think both the Jazz Fest & Golf Tourney will be fine. In 2013 we had 2-3" of rain on the 1st Sunday of Jazzfest.  Our issues will arrive late Monday into Wednesday.  There will be a large upper disturbance moving out of the Rockies  into the northern plains triggering numerous T-Storms on Sunday and that system may drag a slow moving cold front our way next week.  Remember, it's slow moving cold fronts in late April & early May that produce some of our heaviest rain events ('78, '95 ).  Plenty of time to watch it.    The Storm Prediction Center is indicating there could be a severe weather outbreak on Sunday well to our north & west.   So far 2014 is on pace to be the slowest tornado year EVER since modern record keeping began back in 1953.  Stay tuned.
