Weather patterns are like bad habits...hard to break. We are now 3 weeks into our dry spell with our rain chances increasing this week with the approach of a weak front. May fronts often stall to our north so I am not certain this front will get close enough to provide widespread relief to our dryness. What I will watch for is the potential for heavy rainfall developing along a slow moving frontal boundary. That is what happened over Pensacola last week. It's too soon to know if that will happen as the upper level energy (dynamics) is still out over the West. We'll have several days to monitor the progress of this next system. stay tuned!
In the short term, the mid 80s will start to feel hotter as our low level moisture (humidity) increases making it feel more uncomfortable & Summer-like.
