Here we are in May and I had to wear a sweater playing golf early this morning. It felt great! No sweat dripping down, just a great crisp feeling of dry air. I realize that won't last for much longer and this is probably our last "real cool" spell until October. However, if the pattern of east coast troughs persists as the computer models hint, we could see a couple of weak cool fronts in the next 2 weeks before the 90s set in for good. What makes this weather delightful is the low humidity (very dry air) that allows the night time temps to drop into the 40s & 50s. The timing for the last weekend of Jazz Fest couldn't be any better, especially remembering how wet & chilly it was last year.
Tonight a fast moving upper disturbance is producing brief light showers that will be long gone before daybreak. I given this weekend a rare ZERO chance for rain. Get out and enjoy Mother Nature in her finest!
