Arthur is Long Gone, but Breck is Back on Monday
After 2 weeks away from everything connected to weather, I'll be back on air on Monday. From my perch far out west, I did see some of the national coverage of Hurricane Arthur, which for the most part was good, however, CNN & The Weather Channel constantly overhyped the storm in trying to outdo each other for the viewer's attention. I realize that's the business of broadcasting...getting more eyes watching you, so I will restrict my comments. A salute to NHC for excellent track & intensity forecasts. They were right on. Sometimes once a pattern is set up (East Coast storms), you'll see more disturbances form near the same spots. That will be OK with me as we have seen our fair share of storms during the last 10-15 years. See ya tomorrow on FOX 8.

I found some of our local radio stations hyping up the storm. After such a build up, they said that it would be no threat to us or the Gulf Coast...sometimes I feel this hype is all about putting fear into its audience.
