Hurricane Harvey continues on a NW path at 10 mph that should bring his center onshore near dark north of Corpus Christi. He has yet to slow down, but all computer models once again indicate he will stall over SE Texas for 2-3 days. This will result in extreme rain totals of 20-30+” that should cause massive flood problems. IF the storm then drifts to the NE either along or just offshore the upper Texas coast, Galveston & Houston will become the bullseye for the heavy rains. What happens with Harvey’s path early next week will determine whether we will have to deal with heavy rains. In the short term, we should stay mostly dry as, usually around a strong hurricane, the air sinks. If we ever have to deal with Harvey, our crunch time will not be until early next week. What you could do before hand is to make sure your car has a full tank of gas & you have stocked up on food & water. If you wait until next week & IF Harvey comes our way, the lines will be enormous. I’ll have another update tonight but I don’t expect any surprises. Again, watch the forward motion on each advisory. Stay tuned!
