It's a Dry Heat...!!!

My golfing buddy Marvin (Delta World Tire) was telling me that he’s golfed in Arizona when the highs topped 100+, but it was a dry heat.  It was so dry that you didn’t sweat and, as long as you stayed hydrated, it didn’t feel that bad.  Today was one of those days locally.   Oh sure, it was still hot (93), but the dew points were 8-10 degrees lower than yesterday resulting in a much lower heat index (feels like).   Monday was just gawd awful with dew points 80+ with a peak heat index hitting 113.   That’s Dallas hot or Arizona hot or Las Vegas hot.   Today;s high (93) was just about our typical/normal high (92) for late July.  The only thing missing was our daily PM Storms as 95% of us stayed dry.   I don’t see any major changes coming until early next week when another east coast trough develops and increases our rain chances.  Until then, water your plants & lawns and stay hydrated if working or playing outdoors.

The Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo begins on Thursday and I’ll be back trying to get on the leader board.  There are 33 prizes awarded in many different categories and it’s always fun to watch the big & bigger fish come in.    If you love to fish, come on down to the east end of the Island and register($25).  It give you the opportunity to win a fully outfitted 21’  boat & trailer.  You can register online (wwwtarponrodeo.org ) if you can’t make the Rodeo and still win the boat.  Winner need not be present to win.  Jim Henderson & I co-MC the awards ceremony on Saturday night at 8 PM.     I’ll resume my posting on Sunday night.   It’s off to Grand Isle to pass a good time.
