Hurricane Lane Over Hyped...

So I’m watching TWC (The Weather Channel) tonight with Mike Bettis on the beach at Waikiki telling about the dangers from Hurricane Lane.  The beach was PACKED with people while Mike was trying to explain the dangers coming from Lane.   OK, Lane has brought massive flooding to parts of the Islands, however, Oahu was not getting the main impacts.   Lane has weakened to a Tropical Storm tonight, but flooding rains are still a possiblilty for the next few days.   Back closer to home, the Atlantic remain dead with NHC now saying that wave coming off of Africa yesterday is no longer worth watching.  Plus the models are showing nothing happening for the next 7-10 days.

Locally, we saw some build ups south of NOLA today and that is a sign of returning Gulf moisture that should have some showers bubble up for Saturday increasing for Sunday into next week.   To have another day without any showers in August is very unusual.  Without rain, we reach back into the lower 90s.  We need those storms to keep us from getting too hot.  That should be the pattern into next week.  Don’t know about you, but my allergies have gone nuts the past two days.  Is it the western fires, the local mold spores or just living in the sub-tropics that triggers allergies?  Whatever, I’m congested and feeling  like my head is exploding.  Time to go to Allegra D!!!

Stay timed!
