There is no big breaking news tonight from the earlier thinking this afternoon. Late model runs continue to hint at something forming over the eastern Gulf on Monday and NHC has increased the probabilities from 40% to 50%. Satellite loops show an upper low just off the east coast of Florida and that is causing wind shear over the tropical wave moving through the eastern Bahamas. If that pattern were to continue, this wave might just stay a wave bringing us lots of rain next week. We’ll see what the overnight & morning model runs show and if they confirm today’s runs, we’ll need to really start paying attention as we get into next week. For now, it’s watch and wait as any development will be slow to occur.
Locally, we still have a weak circulation over the northern Gulf south of Lafayette. This keeps us on the wet side again for Sunday so expect above normal clouds and showers to continue. Next update before noon Sunday IF necessary. Stay tuned!
