Gordon Nearing Coast, Almost a Hurricane...

The new NHC forecast track is essentially unchanged with a slight shift back to the EAST now center lined over Biloxi.  From what I’ve been seeing on satellite and radar loops is a more noticeable shift farther to the EAST, maybe right up Mobile Bay or on the east side of the Bay around Gulf Shores.   NHC is very conservative on making radical changes to the track and this close to land is not the time to do that.  Hurricane warnings are up over to the AL/FL border so those folks should be ready too.  Whatever, one thing for sure, Gordon is NOT coming closer to NOLA.  IF this shift proves to be reality, it would be good news for the folks on the Northshore as the higher winds & rain would stay to the east.   We’ll know for sure shortly as the center will reach land by 10 PM.  I’ll be watching the local channels to see if they pick up on what I’m seeing.   Regardless, it doesn’t change anything for us here in Louisiana.  This is and has been, for a while, a storm for folks to our east.   We still have many weeks left in September to have other threats.  Thank goodness this one missed us.  Next update tonight.  Stay tuned!
