Gordon Reaches Coast Ovr Dauphin Island...

Former Voice of the Saints Jim Henderson once told me retired coach Tim Floyd said…”Never ignore the obvious”.  If you read my 5 PM afternoon post, I talked about what was obvious to me…that the core of Gordon had shifted to the east…dramatically.  But NHC didn’t say that and most local weathercasters stuck with the 4 PM and 7 PM NHC advisories.   I guess that why I  earned viewer’s trust.  I’d rather be the only one right than wrong with everyone else.  I was not afraid to fail, because if you are, you will rarely be the only one  right.  Enough said.

Gordon northern eyewall has passed through Dauphin Island, AL. and landfall will be well east of the cone of error from NHC.  Than is good news for us, but great news for most of the Mississippi Gulf coast west of Biloxi.  NHC is saying the center has moved inland just west of the MS/AL border.  Pascagoula is in the western “eyewall” (technically Gordon is not a hurricane), but the brunt of the storm has been hammering the beaches east of Mobile Bay to Destin.   We (including the North Shore) have received very little rain or wind and Wednesday is likely to be a very nice day.  I’m confused as to why schools will be closed again tomorrow.  It’s obvious the School Boards don’t read my blog!!!   Enjoy the quiet night and I’ll return to my usual one blog per day tomorrow.  I appreciate all the wonderful comments and thank you for your trust.  It’s a long time before the “Fat Lady” takes the stage to sing.   Stay tuned!
