There is a song by Lady Gaga (Till It Happens to You) that details feelings after being sexually abused. It's a song that applies to many of life's situations, but with regards to the NFL referees not making an obvious penalty call, I feel like the NFL has violated us. Sure the other teams in the league can say "you need to move on", but TILL IT HAPPENS TO YOU, they'll never know what we're feeling. For those of you who haven't already done so, google the on-line petitions protesting the bad non-call and sign them. One is approaching 500,000 fans. The NFL needs to know they have created a lack of trust going forward. We fans expect & deserve better. Mrs. Benson's letter today was right on. The NFL must take steps to make sure there will be no other team that has to see what we saw & feel what we feel with no method to appeal an incorrect call. Perhaps Gaga has it right? We might need more TILL IT HAPPENS TO YOU games before justice is served?
We have a brief warm up coming for Tuesday before our next front rumbles through midday on Wednesday with some showers followed by more cold air. The next 10-14 days look like we will have several opportunities for freezes as Alaska & Canada have gotten colder (35-40 below) once again and models are hinting some of that cold will reach deep into the Gulf South. David showed a great graphic of where the core of the cold will set up during the next 10 years. Hopefully he'll show it again at 9 PM? Still believe we will see a Gulf low develop before this month is over (or early into February)bringing a southern snowfall close to us. I put all my potted plants back outside today so they could get some sunshine and some warmth on Tuesday. Might have to bring them back into my shed later this week, but that's the part of plant lovers trying to keep flowers blooming all Winter. We are many weeks from being over the freeze threat. Stay tuned!
