When It Rains It Pours...

Growing up my parents always seem to have sayings passed down from previous generations..."a stitch in time saves 9...or if you eat all your dinner, you won't go to bed hungry...or, (my Dad's favorite) I don't drink anymore...and I don't drink any less,(duh!)   The one I could never figure out was "When it rains, it pours"  until I grew older and found out they weren't talking about the weather, but the hazards of life.   The past 2 days have certainly been pouring and we could add another saying.  "Misery loves company."   All of SE LA/MS has been stuck under a heavy cloud shield making us all feel SAD(depressed).  My 2 day rain total is now at 5.05"  (and according to Lee Zurik) but there's more!  as another stronger upper disturbance is coming for Sunday & Monday bringing the potential for severe storms and more heavy (2-4'+) rainfall.   Saturday will be the driest day as highs should warm into the 80s with more sunshine returning.  Clouds & showers will dominate Sunday & Monday before a cold front sweeps all the moisture away for Tuesday through Thursday.  That good feel air will be back, but we have to endure another rainy stretch first.   Previous blog posts have indicated the system Sunday into Monday could be worse in terms of severe weather as SPC already has us in the level 2 (slight) risk.  They are likely to increase that to level 3 if the upper energy comes farther to the south and closer to us.   It's pay attention time Sunday into Monday.  Stay tuned!
