Burrr...Almost Need Sweater !

So I take Bailey out for her daily 4 pm walk and it feels almost CHILLY.  I check the FOX 8 Weather App & it tells me it's 78 degrees.  Wow !  What happened to our typical summertime heat?  It's call slow moving T-Storms that gave some spots 1-2"+ and all of us a great cloud cover.  It may look dreary, but it really feels great!  Upper 70s in late afternoon in July?  Thank you very much!  There is an upper high centered over Tennessee with an weak upper low over the eastern Gulf.  Rotating around them is a deep slug of moisture that will keep our rain chances high for another day.  In fact, showers develop over the warm Gulf waters overnight and redevelop inland during daytime heating. Since movement is slow, some heavy totals happen under these tropical downpours.  Monday might be a little less active before a cool front approaches for Tuesday & Wednesday.  Models are struggling with how far south this front goes, but my feelings are it will clear the coast for Thursday before washing out over the weekend.

Let's hope that's the case as the International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo begins next Thursday and we need good weather.  Scattered storms are typical, but keep the organized tropical stuff away.  RIGHT NOW, no model is showing development (unlike before Barry) along the front as it reaches the Gulf. You can find out more about the Rodeo and the opportunity to win a new 22' bay boat, 150 hp Mercury motor & trailer by just registering at www.Tarponrodeo.org .  Even if you can't make it down to Grand Isle to fish, by registering , you get the chance to win this beautiful boat.  You don't need to be present to be a winner.  One week from tonight at 9 PM, Miss Grand Isle will pull the winning number and 2019 Rodeo President Jim Henderson will announce her/his name.  It could be you.  Stay tuned!
