Need Tropical Development...

Today's high of 99 set a new record and tomorrow could do the same.  If we don't get our daily T-Storms, then we get very hot.  Typically in the summer we see tropical waves move across the Atlantic & Caribbean every 3-4 days with some developing into storms or hurricanes.   They mostly stauy open waves bringing welcomed showers and cooling relief.    Currently, the Saharan dust layer covers the Atlantic so nothing will come from there.  However, NHC is indicating an upper disturbance NE of Memphis will head to the SE (based on computer guidance) and could slowly acquire tropical characteristics later next week.  The Euro is way more bullish on development than the GFS.  With the MJO heading into the favorable phase (rising air), don't be surprised to see something form over the warmest waters of the Gulf.   Both models keep us mostly on the dry side, but it's foolish to start guessing on something that isn't there yet, and may never be there.   In the short term, we stay very hot., but beyond Tuesday we could see increasing clouds & showers.  Stay tuned.

It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you our prayers were not answered as my brother-in-law Jerry died after a courageous battle against brain cancer.  He was a fighter to the end and has inspired me to not waste my time left on this planet.   We all need to reach out and comfort those in sorrow.   Another brother-in-law (Nat) passed away 3 weeks previous due to ALS.    As his wife told me, "I've had 14 years to prepare for this day".   Not sure you can ever prepare to say goodbye.  I ask all of you on the prayer lines to continue to pray for the souls of Nat & Jerry and to also pray for their wives during this time of grieving.  That you for all your support.
