Florida getting Glancing Blow...

I really don't have much to add tonight as Dorian is now tracking more northerly heading towards the Carolina coasts.  David mentioned some heavy squalls are rotating around the west side of Dorian, but you can see the eyewall (strongest winds) remains just offshore.  We still have 2 more days of seeing Dorian's impacts, but they should not even approach what the northern Bahamas endured for 48 hours.  If you haven't seen the videos coming in, just picture Mexico Beach last year.  Neighborhoods totally flattened, structures badly damaged.  It will take them years to heal the scars.

Fernand will move into Mexico south of Brownsville tomorrow with no impact on us.  Rather troublesome is the new GFS model that is bringing yet another strong hurricane to the Carolinas & east coast up to New York City in 2 weeks.   That's a long time away and the system has yet to come off of Africa, but it's something that I'll be watching for since this is September.  There are hints that as this system, or IF this system comes westward, we will have a cold front move down blocking it from getting into the Gulf.  A long way out, a long time to watch.  Did I say cold front?   Not this week as we will continue to fry with near record heat.  Stay tuned!
