TD Forming Over Western Gulf?

Returned home from my morning workout and the winds were ripping.  Checked the hourlies and Lakefront Airport was gusting to 30+.  Began looking at satellite and radar loops and , it appears to me, a low level circulation is trying to form over the western Gulf south of Lake Charles and east of Houston.   Since models do NOT develop this feature, NHC keeps the chance for development at 10%.  However, models also show this feature will be slow moving and a heavy rainmaker with amounts exceeding 10-20"+.  Obviously this would cause flooding issues so, if you are planning a trip to Houston during the next 3-4 day, be advised weather could be a major issue.

Some much needed rainfall is getting closer to NOLA and cloud cover and showers are making today feel way less hot.

The other big story is Hurricane Humberto looking better organized on his way to becoming a major hurricane.  NHC keeps him way away from the U.S. impacting Bermuda later this week.  Other systems are out in the Atlantic, but we have lots of time to watch them.  We are all down hearing about Drew Brees' hand injury, but this could make the team more focused during his absence?  We all know Drew.  He is not going out because of an injury.  He wants to go out as a Champion again. Stay tuned!
