I think we were all surprised to wake up on Saturday to see all the tree damage & power outages from what NHC call "post Tropical Storm" Olga. It is rare to see any government agency issue an apology, but I applaud the local NWS office issuing a statement stating they were surprised by the high winds from "the remnant circulation of Olga". (see below)
Based on what's coming in the next 10-14 days (colder air), I feel confident we'll see no more tropical for the northern Gulf. Satellite pics are showing clouds gathering across the northern tier of states and temperatures are getting colder and colder. Canada is mostly below freezing with some below zero temps showing up.
Our next concerns will be...when will we have to worry about the first freezes? Compared to Hurricane threats, that seems like a minor thing! Stay tuned!
