A year ago I took down my backyard bird condo and totally gutted the inside. I was so proud that I replaced & repainted the structure that should last for many years. Well, the expression says..." you get what you pay for." Below is last year's reconstruction.
Well, Houston, we have a problem as the photos below show.
You can see all the new wood on the inside, however, somehow (builder error?!!!) the outside wall rotted out allowing some critter (probably a large rat?) to push out the wall despite my using wood screws. I have applied for a FEMA loan (just kidding!!!) and will begin repairs later this week. Since I can't golf or fish, it's back to being Bob the Builder. All my tenants have moved into temporary housing elsewhere. Hopefully they'll come back?
During our current lockdown period, my wife Brenda has turned her artistic energy towards creating some cool art pieces that I'd like to share.
The top one has "Spirit Sticks" (driftwood from Latvia) that symbolizes powerful healing, optimism and unity, while the bottom, "At the Beach" creates the relaxing atmosphere that Brenda enjoys at her favorite places to be.
Weather wise, nothing has changed as we have more record heat and are on pace for the hottest March on record. We have a frontal boundary just to our north that is separating 40s & 50s from the 70s & 80s. That front is lifting northward. We will have to wait for a very weak cold front that will try to stagger through late Saturday, but the real cold front won't arrive until the first week in April. If models are correct, our current long dry spell should also end as April begins cooler and wetter. We shall see. Stay healthy & stay tuned!
