These are difficult times for the World due to the Coronavirus, but as Brenda pointed out to me with her Caps For Kids program, these children will still be battling their cancers long after COVID-19 is gone.(capsforkids.org.) Another group I feel for is the recently decreased & their families who can't hold typical memorial services. At a time when the living need hugs & kisses, when the living need the support of family & friends to help them start the grief journey, when the living need to go on living, COVID-19 shows up to exacerbate their pain. A service that is often a celebration of life now, like most things, has to be delayed to a future date. Sure pray for the dead, but also pray for the living.
It didn't take us long to bounce into the mid 80s where most record highs are at this time of the year. Clouds are aligning SW to NW with the surface wind flow with plenty of sunshine across NOLA.
The real nasty weather is to our north extending up to New England where it's snowing inland away from the coasts. The big cities from Washington to Boston have been mainly snow free this Winter as there just hasn't been any super cold outbreaks.
For us, the next system coming out of the Rockies will again stay well north with the rest of this week flirting with daily record warmth. Maybe over the weekend some slightly cooler air will filter down, but don't get your hopes up just yet.
Finally, there are always those who come up with creative/funny things during times of stress. The top reminds us hurricane season is only 2+ months away while the second from Jackie Barrett is more sobering. Stay healthy & stay tuned!
