More Record Heat...Really?

We easily soared past today's record high by the noon hour making it 4 days in a row of setting new records.  Why has Kenner all of a sudden turned hotter?  David Bernard pointed out to me it might be the result of the new MSY.
It's pretty obvious that the big glob of concrete and steel has to have some kind of mini heat island effect.  If NWS did not change the instrument site location, bada bing, the temperature readings have to be hotter.  No word from NWS on whether that is the cause of the recent spike upwards,

SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has place a moderate risk for strong storms tomorrow centered SW of Chicago.  As the next upper level low kicks out of the Rockies, warm air will surge northward and the risk for severe weather appears high for MO/IA/Ill. This system will drag a cold front near us by late Saturday, but like most fronts lately, it will either stall or fall apart without bring us much change in our current record warmth.  Model continue to hint that a pattern shift will happen in April, but as one reader commented, don't get our hopes up when time after time, fronts frizzle.  And so I won't!

Bob the Builder was Bob the Painter today making sure all the new wood has 2 coats both inside & out.  After plea bargaining (6 pack of Miller Lite!) with my neighbor, the bird house building inspector, Construction should resume tomorrow with the condo back up and open for business by the afternoon.   I may have to lower the rents to encourage new tenants since most birds have already nested.  We'll keep you posted.  Stay tuned!
