A frontal boundary has set up across the Gulf South oriented west to east just to our north. That's where all the rain has been today.
It appears IF we are to get any heavy rainfall (more likely north of Lake P.), it won't happen until after dark.
The upper energy is back over Texas and won't past by us until midday on Thursday. That should keep us cloudy for much of the day and we will be noticeably cooler(60s) from today's 80+. I suspect the North Shore will get into some heavy rains between 5-10 PM with only some briefly heavy showers over the South Shore between 7-midnight. I certainly don't expect much more than 1-2" across the North Shore with generally an inch or less on the South Shore. Much heavier amounts have occurred north of the MS/LA. line.
The really cold air remains up in Canada and Alaska as the Arctic regions have had a brutal Winter while the lower 48 states have mainly been mild. It's still 40-45 below zero on the north slope in Alaska. It's not too late to see a major blizzard over the Great Lakes and Northeast, but we're running out of time for us to see any freezing weather. I may begin to get my yard ready for Spring this weekend as the weather should be perfect. Stay tuned!
