Weather Apps Saved Lives, Spring Blooms Misery...

Before I get into talking about our weather, let me once again promote the value of any weather App.  Obviously I'm biased to the FOX 8 Weather App, but every station's App has similar functions.  The numerous stories coming out of the Tennessee tornadoes recount how folks were awakened by the alert on their phones.  We'll never know if those who died had their phones properly set to receive weather alerts, but we do know of those who survived because of knowing the storm was coming.  Please make sure you have your weather app's alert/warning setting turned to ON.

Last night David was talking about how the tree pollen is going nuts at this time of the year.  My yard has 3 huge water oaks that drop all kinds of crap at this time of the year.   I have to blow off my patio daily and will need to power wash it next month.   I love how things start blooming, but I hate the mess that is often created.

We finally broke into sunshine this afternoon as last night's rains are moving off the SE coast.  Another upper disturbance is bringing some snow and colder air to the Great Lakes and we'll see that secondary surge arrive here tomorrow night and into Saturday.  The real cold will stay well to our north and east and another warm up begins on Sunday lasting most of next week.  We should have a nice stretch (3-4 days) of sunshine and comfortably cool temps making for a great weekend.
While California has seen less than half of their normal snow & rainfall this season, the Colorado Rockies have been dumped on.  Most of the white is snow cover.  Seems like the weather has become either feast or famine,  It's either too much or too little.  Fortunately for SE Louisiana, we have avoided either extreme so far.  Stay tuned!
