Heaviest Rains Staying North & West...

So far most of the storms have stayed to our west until the past hour.  Even still, the heaviest should miss the heart of NOLA.

There is a plume of tropical moisture over the western Gulf flowing into Louisiana.  No model develops this area of disturbed weather and weakens it over time.  You can also see how clear it is over the eastern Gulf while the Saharan dust layer is moving over us..

Dew Points are up in the 70s making it feel soupy outside.  Fortunately the clouds and showers have kept temps. in check with 90s remaining outside the cloud shield.  The surface map has many weak boundaries, but there are no fronts or strong features around.

The Saharan dust is still quite visible with a break coming over the Caribbean before another surge of dust approaches the eastern islands.  Bottom line, the dust is keeping the Tropics quiet and I'm hearing no complaints!  Stay tuned!
