Fay Not Quite Dere Yet...

Satellite and radar loops continue to follow a surface circulation/rotation of low pressure now centered along the North Carolina coast NE of Wilmington.  The center remains "exposed" with all of the T-Storms well offshore over the Atlantic.

NHC is expecting the circulation to drift along the coast with the storms eventually relocating back over it.  That is when Fay will likely be named.  A Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled for later this afternoon.  Models bring soon to be Fay towards Long Island & then New England with heavy rains and gusty winds along the coast and lesser amounts farther inland.  Traveling to any of the big cities from Philly to Boston will see travel delays Friday through Sunday. Locally, it's a different story.

That frontal boundary has lifted to the north and east taking the higher rain chances with it.  We could see a stray storm fire off during this afternoon's heating, but coverage should be 20% at best.  The main story will be HEAT with highs the next several days mid to upper 90s.  Use common sense, stay hydrated , wear head covering and take breaks if working/playing outdoors.  Next update will come when NHC names Fay.  Stay tuned!
