It's a rare summer day when there is no rain between us and the Florida beaches. Of course, more sunshine meant we're back into the low to mid 90s. However, the surface winds are no longer from the west! That should keep us away from record heat and those daily heat advisories/warnings.
It appears to me another tropical wave has moved across Florida today and should approach us late tomorrow and on Sunday increasing our rain chances again. The surface weather map doesn't show that but satellite pictures don't lie.
It's certainly July hot over a good part of the country, but The Weather Channel is hyping it up like crazy. My geologist son said it best when he told me..."Dad, when I was growing up in the 80s ,90s & 00s, I don't remember so many heat advisories/warnings." Yes, we have seen a warming planet and yes these are hot times, but it has been hotter in the past (1936, 1980, 2011) . But they can't help themselves. The agenda is to push for restrictions to stop global warming. Not funny, but I just read an article (peer reviewed!) talking about the sun entering a cycle of less solar radiation reaching the Earth. Confused? Yep, so am I. Stay tuned!
