Upper Disturbance Brings relief...

A weak upper air disturbance brought us a round of storms last night and another round this morning.  My house received 2.46" last night and another 2.45" this morning for a 24 hour total of 4.91".  The bulk of the rain has now moved west of NOLA and we should see a drying trend the next couple of days. The increase in clouds and showers have kept temps. way below normal so far today.

As the upper system pulls farther to the west, we should see more sunshine and fewer showers for Friday and Saturday.  Expect highs to be back above 90, but I don't see the super hot 95-100 temps happening as the upper heat dome have lifted to our north.

The surface map has no hints of the upper disturbance and you can see how outside the clouds and showers, the heat is still on.  The Tropics remain quiet except for one weak system in the eastern Pacific.

We all can vote for quiet.  Quiet is good.  Stay tuned!
